He studied at Cardiff College of Art under the tutorship of Ceri Richards where drawing from the human figure was central to his studies. In 1942 he was called up for war service. He resumed his studies on his return, and after qualifying became a lecturer, teaching drawing and painting. He taught at Newton Abbot Art School and later became the Head of Art at South Devon College in Torquay.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>During the whole of his professional career he was a practising artist and contained within the pages of this website are examples of his paintings, prints, drawings, constructions and sculptures which make up his lifetimes work. Some of this work is now housed in public collections such as The Victoria and Albert Museum and The National Library of Wales but the majority of the work is still together.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>This website is an opportunity to view a wide range of work from this important Welsh artist who was both a contemporary, and friend, of artists such as John Skeaping, Patrick Heron and Terry Frost.
